Max Warehouse wasn't short on traffic — it was leaking users at every moment of hesitation. Search, product, cart, checkout: each step had its own point of doubt. The redesign didn't chase a prettier UI. It chased confidence.

/Introduction [02]

What was broken and why it mattered

GA4 funnel data, Clarity heatmaps, and 8+ user interviews pointed to the same conclusion: users don't lack intent, they lack confidence.

Data signals

46% of users skip homepage navigation entirely, going straight to Search
43% abandon after seeing search results — search wasn't giving them confidence either
57% abandon immediately after landing on a Product Page
75% drop off before completing checkout, most after adding to cart just to check the real total

What user interviews revealed

Users weren't short on intent — they lost confidence at every step, from invisible pricing to hidden shipping costs.

Problem to solve [03]

The question that framed the work.

How might we help users feel confident enough to complete a purchase, at every step of the funnel?

/Solution - Mobile view rework [04]

Decision-First Mobile Layout

75% of mobile users never scrolled far enough to see price or the Add to Cart button — oversized product imagery pushed everything else below the fold. Rebuilt the mobile PDP to reduce image dominance, surface price above the fold, show bulk incentives early, and keep the CTA immediately accessible.

Shipping Transparency Upfront

Users were adding items to cart just to check the real shipping cost, then abandoning once they saw the total — 75% never made it past this point. Surfaced shipping and delivery estimates next to the price with an inline calculator, reduced hidden links, and made the true total clear before checkout.

Clear Quantity & Pricing Logic

Pack-vs-unit pricing forced users into mental math they didn't trust ("60 for a can seems a lot… not having the pack of 6 picture is misleading"). Surfaced key specs and pack labeling at the top, reinforced quantity visibility, and structured bulk pricing tiers so savings were shown, not calculated.

/Solution - Search Optimization [07]

Structured Search for Precision

46% of users skipped the homepage entirely and went straight to Search — but 43% abandoned right after seeing results, with some defaulting to Google when it failed them. Rebuilt the search overlay with clearer product cards showing real pricing and bulk-discount info at a glance, suggestions grouped into categories and brands so users could narrow in without ever leaving the search bar, and aligned the underlying logic with Algolia for more relevant matching.
